Meet Karli & Keegan
My Journey started when...
my son was first diagnosed with autism, and I felt very alone. Not just distanced from the other 'mom community', but from society in general. Most people did not seem to understand all of the facets of autism, which caused judgement and a skewed perception of this particular neurodevelopmental disorder. I'm here to help provide education, awareness, and acceptance for everyone on the spectrum.
I am a loving mother to my 8 year old severely autistic son, and wife to my husband, Dr Eamon Dutta. I graduated with a MSW in School Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work (UIC), and I have worked as a social worker for Peachford Behavioral Health Systems of Atlanta for over 16 years. Currently I have been focusing my energy on supporting, advocating, and providing awareness for the autism community. I am a speaker and advocate with a wealth of knowledge to share. I have been a mentor in the GaLEND (Georgia Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) program through Georgia State University for the last three years. And, just recently I proudly obtained my Autism Specialist Certification through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). I am also a member of both the Dunwoody Autism Support Group and the Georgia Community Autism Support Group. I have spoken on many occasions about autism at places such as Mercer University and Peachford Hospital. But outside of all of those amazing titles, I like to think of myself as just a self-proclaimed chauffeur, tantrum-calmer, and mind-reader for my child.
